One night @ the call center
This blog is my part of classroom activity on chetan bhagat novel one night @the call center.
1) What sort of effect of Globalization is found in on@tcc?
The title of the novel it self tells about the effect of globalization in call center. Chetan bhagat wants to give message to the Indian that who working in call center they just get good salary but it not give it opportunity to do something else or for their skills and creativity.Thomas Friedman gives definition about Globalization:
"Globalization is the integration of capital technology and information across national borders, in a way that is creating a single global market, and to some degree, a global market."
In this novel we connect with the Friedman's idea of flatterers, on@tcc connect with 3rd flatter 'workflow software' where he takes about a new era of 21st century world become very small.
2)Comment on Narrative structure of the novel. Compare with that of Life of Pi.
In narrative "how" part is important how a narrator portrays the novel while reading prologue and epilogue part is important and epilogue discusses alternative narrative as the story with animals and God may sound romance, fictitious rather than realist.. the way novel starts, and follows the unity of time place and action. In this play also we find dues.ex.machine the way God makes call, and then all characters finds the solution of their problem.
As in the life of pi also we find dues.ex.machine.auther dream and then in the form of a lady he listen the story and then he narrates is quite interesting way. The narrative is in first person narration, and narrative is following the box pattern.
3) What do you understand by self-help book. Is on@tcc self-help book? Illustrate
A self help book is one that is written with the intention to instruct its readers on solving personal problems.in that consider that how to win friend and influence people. God makes call and says to these six characters not become rusted for his problems but God only show the direction his path for alone so they have learn her own self and find the solution of their problem.Self help book often focus on popular psychology such as romantic relationship, or aspects of the mind and human behavior which believer in self help feel can be controlled with effort.
4)What is popular literature? Is on@tcc popular literature? Illustrate.
Popular literature is fiction that does not deal with abstract problems it take normal principles as it take moral principle as the given accepting certain generalized common sense,ideas and values as its base. In one night @ the call center this is problematic unrealistic characters or kind of superhuman it gave negative effect on the audience. or a character seems to know everything. In reality it doesn't happen, at some extent it is type of popular literature .but we can not say that on@tcc is peach of popular literature.
