Design poem by Robert frost.

Design
by Robert Frost.

Introduction about the auther:

Robert Lee Frost (March 26, 1874 – January 29, 1963) was an American poet. His work was initially published in England before it was published in America. Known for his realistic depictions of rural life and his command of American colloquial speech, Frost frequently wrote about settings from rural life in New England in the early twentieth century, using them to examine complex social and philosophical themes.Robert Frost probably has the most name recognition of any American poet ever. His best-known works include “The Road Not Taken” and “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,” both of which have become synonymous with the genre of nature poetry. Frost, though, was much more than just a nature poet. “Home Burial,” for example, deals with overwhelming grief after the death of a child. “Fire and Ice,” while somewhat tongue-in-cheek, considers the apocalyptic end of the world. And some of his poems, such as “The Oven Bird,” are a complex treatment of a difficult rhyme scheme, proving that Frost could technically match anyone in form. Furthermore, Frost helped form the conception of Americans as tough, self-sufficient individuals. This New England native, often called the “Icon of Yankee Values,” remains the quintessential American poet.

Analysis of the poem:

Robert frost poem with title design is a philosophical poem which start that there is a design of destiny or God in everything and every incidental which happen in our life to show this truth the poet speak up the subject matter of a spider, a mouth becomes in morsel of a spider.
It is night and in the darkness of night one mouth is inspired wants to catch that mouth on that white flower and so it changes its color to white so that it may remain invisible to the eyes of that mouth. That spider remains successful in catching the mouth and very soon the wings of that mouth are detached from its body, or in down just like paper kite. The poet observe this scene and click realization in he that even in the smallish of the small incident which happen in this world there is a design of destiny. Destiny made that proud might and inspired that mouth to go to that flower. The same desting inspired spider to climb up that hight to go to that flower and o begins his morning ritual by making that mouth its food. The poet comes to conclusion that nothing happen in this world without design. The seal of desting is a must for the occurrence of any incident.

Summery of the poem :

Fire and ice is a very short but remarkable poem of Robert Frost in which the poets philosophically temperament is found the present short poem deals with the theme of the distortion of universe but while dealing with these things the poet comes before us as a performed philosopher. The opening line of the poem preface a meeting on thought of Indian mythology and Christian mythology and Christian mythology of the west some people are of the opinion that this world would be destroyed because of fire and some others believe that the world would be destroyed because of water. In Indian mythology there is an account of how king Manu was saved by the flued with the help of lord Vishnu who was in guise of fish. It describes how the world was destroyed because of flued. The Christian myth of the west mentions that the world would be destroyed because of fire.
The poet frost in the opening of the poem refers to these two myths and he believed that the world would be destroyed because of fire. The poet here uses the world would be destroyed because of fire. The poet here uses the world “Fire’ as a symbol to signify human desire, the poet wants to convey that human desire are just like flame of fire and there is no end to human desire. So the poet is one of the opinion that the world would be destroyed because of the fire of human desires because human desire is a major driming force which compels a person to go to of those desire. The poet then says that Ice is also equally capable of destroying the world. The poet associates ice with cold – blooded hatred which modern man has for a fellow human being the days of physical was are born now it is replaced with cold – blooded  hatred with which people are destroyed mentally so the poet says that ice also capable of destroyed the world.
The present poem has a philosophical note in it as it comments on human nature. The first aspect of human nature is burning desire and the second aspect is cold hatred both are having the capacity to destroyed this world. This truth of modern life peach highlighted in the present poem.

Othello by Shakespeare.

Othello
By Shakespeare

Introduction:
William Shakespeare has become the most famous and influential author in English literature. (26 April 1564 – 23 April 1616) He was an English poet, playwright and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon". His extant works, including collaborations,  consist of approximately 39 plays 154 sonnet, two long narrative poems and a few other verses, some of uncertain authorship. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.
In the shakespeian tragic drama the play starts usually happily the hero and heroine of shakespeian drama are of great starts for the readers. Interest the heroine of shakespeian drama always have tragic end while the hero of the play pusses some serious flaw and this serious flaw of the hero becomes the cause of the hero’s tragedy.
Othello is the most domestic of Shakespeare tragedy its focus is not on the fall of the king the collapse of the nation the agony of the prince or the contradiction between lobe and beauty it is about end of marriage and nature it is more concerned with sexual jealousy.

Summary of the play:

Othello is a highly esteemed general in the service of Venice. Iago is Othello's ambitious friend and ensign. However, he promotes the Florentine Michael Cassio to the position of personal lieutenant and Iago is deadly jealous. Iago begins an evil and malicious campaign against the hero.
Othello elopes with Desdemona, daughter of Senator Brabantio and Iago enlists Rodrigo, a former suitor of Desdemona, to slander him to Brabantio. Desdemona's father then complains to the Duke of Venice, claiming the vile, black man, used spells and charms to win Desdemona's favors.

Turkey threatens Cyprus and the Senate charges                         Othello to defend Cyprus to become the new governor. The Duke of Venice listens to Brabantio's charges against him but after hearing Othello speak of his love for Desdemona the duke finds in his favor.

Othello is totally unaware that the treacherous Iago was behind all the charges and orders Iago to accompany his wife to Cypress. Roderigo egged on by Iago, also accompanies them convinced that Desdemona will tire of her lover. Not content with slandering him, Iago also persuades Roderigo that Cassio must be discredited to prevent any possibility of Desdemonia turning to Cassio.

In Cyprus, Iago gets Cassio drunk, then has Roderigo start an argument with him. Montano, the outgoing governor of Cyprus, intervenes, and Cassio wounds him. Othello arrives on the scene and Iago convinces him that Cassio is to blame and he disowns Cassio. Iago then persuades Cassio that he can get back into Othello's favour if he gets Desdemona to intercede on his behalf.

Desdemona pleads on behalf of Cassio making her lover suspicious and extremely jealous. A handkerchief belonging to Desdemona comes into Iago's possession via his wife Emilia, which he plants in Cassio's room. Iago tells him and when Desdemona is unable to produce the handkerchief her lover is convinced that she and the younger and more handsome Cassio are having an affair. He is consumed with anger and jealousy and confides in Iago that he plans to poison Desdemona - Iago suggests that he strangle her instead in the bed that she 'contaminated' with Cassio.

Letters are the received from the Duke of Venice recalling Othello and naming Cassio the new governor. Iago persuades Roderigo to kill Cassio for him, but he fails only managing to wound him. Cassio strikes back and wounds Roderigo. Iago rushes past unseen and wounds Cassio in the leg. Othello arrives at this point and watches from a distance and believes that Iago, his good and honest friend, has killed Cassio. Iago finally kills Rodrigo.

Othello returns to the castle to kill his wife. Othello, who still loves his wife, kisses her awake and after more accusations and denials from Desdemona he finally smothers her to death.Emilia tells Othello the truth about the scheming Iago and the wounded Cassio corroborates her story. Othello wounds Iago, then kills himself. Iago kills Emilia. After Iago is led away, in chains, Cassio becomes governor of Cyprus.

One night @ the call center.

One night @ the call center
This blog is my part of classroom activity on chetan bhagat novel one night @the call center.

1) What sort of effect of Globalization is found in on@tcc?

The title of the novel it self tells about the effect of globalization in call center. Chetan bhagat wants to give message to the Indian that who working in call center they just get good salary but it not give it opportunity to do something else or for their skills and creativity.Thomas Friedman gives definition about Globalization:
"Globalization is the integration of capital technology and information across national borders, in a way that is creating a single global market, and to some degree, a global market."

In this novel we connect with the Friedman's idea of flatterers, on@tcc connect with 3rd flatter  'workflow software' where he takes about a new era of 21st century world become very small.

2)Comment on Narrative structure of the novel. Compare with that of Life of Pi.

In narrative "how" part is important how a narrator portrays the novel while reading prologue and epilogue part is important and epilogue discusses alternative narrative as the story with animals and God may sound romance, fictitious rather than realist.. the way novel starts, and follows the unity of time place and action. In this play also we find dues.ex.machine the way God makes call, and then all characters finds the solution of their problem.
As in the life of pi also we find dues.ex.machine.auther dream and then in the form of a lady he listen the story and then he narrates is quite interesting way. The narrative is in first person narration, and narrative is following the box pattern.

3) What do you understand by self-help book. Is on@tcc self-help book? Illustrate

A self help book is one that is written with the intention to instruct its readers on solving personal problems.in that consider that how to win friend and influence people. God makes call and says to these six characters not become rusted for his problems but  God only show the direction his path for alone so they have learn her own self and find the solution of their problem.Self help book often focus on popular psychology such as romantic relationship, or aspects of the mind and human behavior which believer in self help feel can be controlled with effort.

4)What is popular literature? Is on@tcc popular literature? Illustrate.

Popular literature is fiction that does not deal with abstract problems it take normal principles as it take moral principle as the given accepting certain generalized common sense, ideas and values as its base. In one night @ the call center this is problematic unrealistic characters or kind of superhuman it gave negative effect on the audience. or a character seems to know everything. In reality it doesn't happen, at some extent it is type of popular literature .but we can not say that on@tcc is peach of popular literature.

Education, Technology and ELT.

Education, Technology and ELT

Here is my views regarding this thinking activity.

Here is link for given this task.

 1) Video - 1: Sir Ken Robinson: Changing paradigm.
In this video Sir Ken Robinson’s talk about changing educational paradigms, based on one of the best TED talks of all time, in which He is Sir Ken Robinson’s makes a compelling case for show schools are killing creativity. Every country on the earth there were two type of public education, academic and cultural. That how we are teaching children, what we are teaching children and what we are teaching children for. In this video we are showing that what are doing as a educator and as a country is not working. This is the time to rethink education as a system and what we want education to be like for our children. He was particularly on board with his emphasis on the role of divergent thinking; it isn’t the same thing as creativity. I define creativity as the process of having original ideas that have value. Divergent thinking isn’t synonym but is an essential capacity for creativity. It’s the ability to see lots of possible answers to a question, lots of possible ways to interpret a question, to think not just in linear or convergent ways, to see multiple answers, not one.

Video – 2: Sugata Mitra: school in the cloud sole.

Educational researcher  Sugata Mitra’s “Hole in the Wall’ experiments have shown that, in the absence of supervision and formal teaching, children can teach themselves and each other if they are motivated by curiosity. In this video talk about future of learning that how we learn in school and how student learn know. They must know three things: They must have good handwriting, because data is handwriting. They must be able to read. They must be able to do multiplication division, addition and subtraction in their head. Education system is not broken but it’s wonderfully constructed. People are mortification division and sub practicable because of technology people work anywhere they want. Sugta mitra talk about for his experience that he put computer in the slum aria and he found that slum children are learn faster than any children.
Video – 3: Sugata Mitra:  Future of learning.

In this video Sugata Mitra criticizing the old way of teaching that has its roots in the enlightenment and western imperial expansion. This old method is constantly becoming more obsolete with the advent of the internet and explosion of information. And the paradigm of education system from self learners and their pursuit to solving problems, knowing may be obsolete, and teacher have to new role to play they built questions instead of seeking answers.

Video – 4: Salman Khan: Let’s use video to reinvent education.

In this video Salman Khan talks about how and why he created the remarkable Khan academy, a careful structured series of educational video. and also he talks about the need to create alternative access to classroom content and how video can be used to flip a classroom. While showing the power of interactive exercises, Salman argues for a change in the teaching paradigm: Using technology to “humanism’ the classroom by flipping the tradition classroom script gives students video lecture to watch at home, and do “homework’ in the classroom with the teacher as a facilitator, coach and mentor.

Video – 5: Digital Native & Digital Immigrants.

In this video Marc prensky talked about the growing generation gap in the use of technology between what have been termed as “digital native” and “digital immigrant. These two generational blocs are very different in their approach and utilization of contemporary technologies. Natives are well versed in the application of current technological trends and can reap the benefits. In contract, immigrants must learn to their lifestyles.

Video – 6: David crystal: the effect of new technologies on English.
In this Video David Crystal talk about that language changes over the different variation of social media. Nowadays many variety of technology development in the world. Twitter changed its phrase to open up to topics that people talk about, having simple change to the phrase affected how everyone tweeted making it less introverted and more about what is going on around them. And also he talk about that language has barely changed in twenty years which makes sense.

Video – 7: David Crystal: The biggest challenge for English teaches in the times of internet.
In this video David Crystal talks about the biggest challenge for teacher. In this time so fast in language changes to two reason. One internet that in their blog facebook many of people learn language, and second is globalization. Anywhere in the world English is important language. Two jobs are most difficult in the world fist tranpriting and interpreting second is language teaching. In the old days, in English language teaching, things seemed very calm and simple. Binary concepts organized our thinking. Here are three, British vs. American English, speech vs. writing, prescriptive vs. descriptive. Then things changed swiftly, rapidly, dramatically.

Video –8:David crystal: Taxing is good for English language.
David crystal in this talk about his theory that “Taxing is good for the English language”. We knew about language was much clearer. There was written and spoken language, and everyone knew which was which. Then along came the internet, and everything that we thought we knew about the way the English language worked in speech or in writing had to be reinterred. And nowadays also our education system is traditional and students are habituated for this traditional way of writing English  language. Students are more use of technology in teaching language its better for his literary grows.

Can technology replace Teacher?

Can technology replace Teacher?

Technology has encroached the place of human being. We know that nowadays many development of the world that there machines can do all most things where human were required, and technology have revolutionized how people communicate and learn in nearly every aspect of modern life except for education. Teacher provides many things for children like homework checking, textbooks and classroom equipment. Etc teachers do will be conducted by technology in future.

The use of technology in the classroom doesn’t lessen the need for great teachers. In fact, it is great teachers who make using technology so significant in student’s education. Whilst technology is able to take on a whole host of tasks, it does have its shortcoming, most prominently its inability to interact with humans. Technology therefore facilitates the learning process but it cannot replace the role of teacher.

Yes technology replaced teacher because best teacher will use technology in the classroom as part of an expanding toolkit, and hopefully they will see the benefits of smarter technology in the form of reduced clerical work classrooms will continue to change shape but it’s safe to assume that there will be a human teacher at the front them for a long time yet.
